When you think of elopement, I immediately think of having a mountainous Colorado Elopement. That is exactly what this Sioux Falls Photographer did! And I must say, it was epic! Give me small mountain towns, paired with epic views and rad people and it is a 10 out of 10 from me.
I started taking pictures of Emilio and Kelsey at their cute riverside Airbnb just outside of Idaho Springs, Colorado. Little details of their day were photographed along the rushing river. Next, I photographed Emilio getting ready like him putting on his tie and shoes. Next, it was Kelsey’s turn. I helped her get into her dress for their first look. Emilio was overcome with emotion when he first saw her. I mean, she is gorgeous every day but there is something about seeing your person dressed up that makes it that much more special.
Side Note: Idaho Springs is the perfect little mountain town with good vibes and great restaurants. It’s not too far out of Denver so if your in the area, I recommend it as a stop.
Emilio helped her with the buttons on her dress then we were off to our first stop which was right down the road. It was a beautiful clearing that I wanted to hit before we made it to the mountain. It did not disappoint. Then we made our way up to Summit Lake Park.
As a Sioux Falls Photographer, I don’t get in the mountains often. But man, the drive up to Summit Lake Park was so beautiful. It is a perfect backdrop for a Colorado Elopement. Especially since it is a short hike to the picturesque views.
The rain started coming in so we headed down the mountain to have a late lunch, early dinner in Idaho Springs. Lastly, to finish out the Colorado Elopement photos, we headed to Loveland Pass for sunset photos and a “We Did It!” champagne pop.
