I met these two wonderful humans after Julia found me through a hashtag on Instagram, #loveislove. And I am I SO glad she did! We met for drinks to make sure we vibed and we hit it off! I was SO excited to shoot their wedding. They were having a small intimate Destin beach wedding and then their laid-back reception at Giovannis 189.

Erin and Julia started their wedding day getting ready at a house they rented in Destin, Florida. We were waiting for the rain to clear out so we could head to the ceremony on Okaloosa Island to have their beach ceremony. They found a private secluded spot that was perfect for their intimate ceremony. The rain cleared up just minutes before the ceremony and gave us beautiful, dramatic weather. They had their Destin beach wedding was surrounded by their parents, for a small and intimate ceremony. They untraditionally (my favorite) walked away from the crowd to say their vows to each other. It was beautiful and that moment made it very them.

After the ceremony on Okaloosa Island, their friends and family awaited their arrival at Giovanni’s 189 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The weather was perfect and we were able to enjoy the tiki bar on the water at Giovanni’s 189. Their guests dance the night away on the best and most poppin’ dance floor I have ever seen. It was amazing to say the least!

How was the wedding day?

“It was perfect. It rained like crazy until about fifteen minutes before we walked onto the beach, which created beautiful waves and sky for our pictures! After saying our vows and taking pictures, we went and walked our dogs, then on to the party at the reception.” – Erin + Julia
