Joseph and Rachel had a Ezell House wedding in Mobile, Alabama last October that I had the honor of shooting! We kind of ran around all day in the best way! They had their first look at the Ezell House! Then took a trolly bus to their favorite park, Washington Square Park for their wedding party photos! The trolly then headed to their favorite local bar, Callaghans Irish Social Club where they are regulars at. It was like they were able to show me their whole life in one day. Clearly one special day!
Their ceremony was at the beautiful and historic Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Some of those detailed veil shots before the ceremony are some of my favorite shots ever.
Following the ceremony Joseph, Rachel and all their guests walked the streets in a second line with a brass band to their reception at the Ezell House wedding venue. What an experience to be a part of! They ended at the reception hall where they cut the cake, danced the night away, and ended with a sparkler exit and an exiting carriage! It’s days like this that remind me how much I love capturing photos you can feel.
I felt everything from this day all over again while looking through this gallery and LOVED it.
The Ezell House was one of the original downtown Mobile entertaining homes since 1867. This house boasts beautiful 18ft ceilings, masterful plasterwork, and grandeur rooms filled with beautiful tapestry. In 1978, the circular cast iron Moongate was installed and jazz music could be heard daily as guests dined, danced, and drank. In the 1990s, it was turned into a wedding/entertainment venue but you still feel transported back to the 1800s when you stepped inside. It is truly a wedding gem!
